Weekend Recap

Well, folks. Today became the 1st of May which means that April, the CRAZIEST month in student affairs is now behind me. Phew. Halls close in 17 days and I only have to get through 1 big program this week and closing before I can put my feet up for a whole hour or two, pat myself on the back and say, "You done good, kid. You done real good."

Though I headed into the weekend with ZERO plans, I found plenty of ways to keep myself occupied. I grabbed dinner Friday night with B&J at Seamus McDaniel's in Dogtown and though I love their outdoor seating, I'm over their food. It's just not very...good. So if I report back on this blog that I've eaten there again anytime in the near future, scold me. We redeemed ourselves by going to Cafe Ventana after for a nightcap beverage. Delicious.

The weather was GORGEOUS Saturday and I knew if I didn't take advantage of it, I'd regret it. So I dusted the bike off since it's been cooped up since fall and stretched its wheels with an hour ride around Forest Park. And then I gathered a small crew together for an afternoon at the Zoo (which is HUGE, and AMAZING, and FREE)...And it's also in Forest Park. So after the hour long bike ride and two more hours at the zoo, saying I was pooped is an understatement. I had a craving for chinese and was content to stay in last night with some chinese, some vino, and a movie.

Today I hit the ground running doing 4 loads of laundry and cleaning my apartment all before 11am. I went for a run and hit the stores to do some shopping for my students, myself, and mi madre. Had enough time to make Mass at 4:30pm and well, now dinner is on the stove.

All in all, a great weekend!

Cheers.
