robust.
I ventured out to Webster Groves (to which I never usually go) last night to Robust to celebrate a friend's birthday. I had never been before and never heard of this place but after visiting last night, I think it's worth revisiting if you love wine if you don't mind that it's about 15-20 minutes away. The majority of the party ordered Wine Flights, which were three 3oz. samples of various wines. They had about 8-10 options of Flights and I settled on "Roll out the red carpet Reds." My favorite of the bunch was a red from Argentina. The other two were good but not the best. Several in the party ordered the "Take me to bed Reds" and they LOVED those. So perhaps I should have gone that route? I also got a duck prosciutto flat bread pizza for dinner (good but a bit salty) and a piece of pumpkin gooey butter cake for dessert (not very pumpkin or very gooey butter). My only major complaint with the food is that it's TINY. Like very small portions. I guess they are probably closer to standard portion size as I've always heard that restaurants OVER serve but when we left, my friend and I decided we'd consider returning for the wine and maybe a cheese plate but probably not for dinner itself.
In re-reading this post, it's coming off as not the best experience but we had a really great time. Maybe that was the company? I dunno. Either way, we had a ton of fun and it was great to break up the week with such a wonderful time out!
Cheers.
