The Weekend.

Isn't there a saying that goes something to the tune of, "when the _____ are away, the mice will play!"? I cannot recall the _____ (turning out to be a great post already, eh?) but that's how I felt about Friday night. With the students away on Fall Break, the staff could relax and let their hair down a bit. So that's what we did! Happy hour and dinner at Chavas in Soulard followed by Guesstures, beers, and SHOTS and a late night run to Pickleman's to fight off the midnight hunger. It felt like the old days!

Other than that, the weekend was uneventful. A birthday party for a friend Saturday night ( VERY a bit awkward), the gym, pot roast in the crock pot, and shopping where I purchased a new pair of Puma tennis shoes and some new brown dress shoes.

Oh, and a Sunday morning viewing of Temple Grandin which fascinated me! I've been wanting to see it since Claire Danes and the film won so many awards and accolades this past season. And it definitely deserved all the praise! The film had a similar feel to me as Simon Birch in the sense that you found yourself drawn into the world of Temple and her autism and wanted her to succeed. I definitely recommend it.

Didn't watch the Cardinals this weekend or the Saints game, and I tuned into the LSU game right at the end. Not a great weekend for sports viewing on my end but was pleased to know the teams I semi root for won 3 out of 4 games!
