Weekend Rundown
I spent the majority of my weekend (last night and all day today) attending a local conference in town focusing on students in transition. It's a heavily academic-oriented conference and the sessions I'm actually interested in have been limited but nonetheless, happy to be professionally developing myself. And not that I enjoy benefiting from others' misfortunes but I got to step in today and co-facilitate a round table discussion on learning communities because two of my colleagues had personal emergencies and couldn't attend. A last minute presentation? Happy to!
Other highlights of the weekend included a great buddy night on Friday with Brian grabbing dinner at the King and I on South Grand (love their pad thai!), watching the Cardinals win and Limitless (avoid) and knocking out some laundry. Saturday I caught up on several hours of TV from the past week (shameful since the weather was SO BEAUTIFUL) but I did however take advantage of it briefly on a bike ride around the park.
And last night post conference, I grabbed Mexican with some friends and then ventured down to Soulard to a bar where a friend of a friend was dj-ing. Though I was drained this morning when the alarm went off, am glad we went out and had fun.
All in all, a great weekend! Cheers.
