Sick? Nooooo.
I woke up two days ago with that scratch in my throat. You know the feeling. It's the dreaded PLEASE DON'T LET ME GET SICK feeling. I always get the scratch. That's how it starts. It goes away during the day but you wake up the next day with a deeper, more prolonged scratch and then the next day, BAM! you're sick. That's how today has been. I made it through 4 hours of class and presented my Lifeline (finally!!), sat through 3 hours of meetings this afternoon, and even went and checked out a potential apartment for next year before coming home to crash.
I would love nothing more than to spend tomorrow on the couch catching up on DVR shows and resting. Instead, I'll be facilitating a Safe Space Training and then meeting my professor for coffee to talk about my research proposal.
Enough gloom and doom. On a happy note, my parents sent me a king cake this week. I knew Mardi Gras was right around the corner but forgot about king cakes. Seeing one sitting on my front door was like icing on the cake. Literally. My roommates and I dived in (after having to explain to Kari what a king cake even was...) and GOOD HEAVENS IT WAS DELICIOUS! Elizabeth got the baby (it's what everyone always wants to know when you tell someone you have a king cake).
Looking forward to a weekend with NOTHING on the calendar. Hopefully I'll feel well enough to go out Saturday night with folks to celebrate being single for V-day but we'll see. A few papers to knock out. And hopefully a run or two.
Cheers.
