My 25.
So if you're in tune with the wonderful world of facebook, then you're aware of the "25 Random Things" people write about themselves for all their friends to see and comment on. I've been tagged in quite a few and to be honest, I think some of those tags were gentle nudges to help me jump on the band wagon. So I will. Sorta. I'm posting them here instead of facebook. If you're reading this, consider yourself tagged.
1. I admire people who aren't afraid to be themselves. "Do you." I'd like it to be my motto for the remainder of 2009.
2. Sometimes I scratch my head wondering what I'm doing being a graduate student and why I always feel like I'm behind.
3. If I could be anything, I'd be a member of a boy band. Seriously. No lie.
4. I loved "Bug Juice" even though I was too old to be watching it on the Disney channel and hated that I never got to attend. Secretly, I think Dawg Camp is my opportunity to relive my Bug Juice dreams. Can't wait for DISCOVERY!!!
5. So You Think You Can Dance is probably my favorite show of all time. I'm obsessed with it.
6. When I was younger, my older sister always told me I was adopted and it made me cry. A lot.
7. I love swimming pools but I hate the ocean.
8. People who text message or answer their phone during a movie DRIVE ME CRAZY. I'm not afraid to tell a random stranger to get off their phone or shut up in a movie. I am afraid to tell my friends that.
9. Skydiving was one of the most exhilarating things I have ever done. And one of the best memories I have with my best friend.
10. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a twisted version of the Truman Show where everyone is in on it but me.
11. I am geographically challenged. No lie. Within the last two years, I learned Alaska was connected to Canada and just last week, I noticed Russia really is close to Alaska and finally understood the Sarah Palin joke.
12. "Piedmont" is one of my favorite words. Perhaps one day, I will work for Piedmont College.
13. I do not operate on a regular calendar year. My new year starts in August and ends in May.
14. I get really attached to television shows and don't do well when they end. (i.e. Boston Public, Party of Five).
15. I once tried to film a documentary on a pet store in Memphis. They were poster children for cruelty to animals. We were told to stop filming.
16. I have a good friend from college who was one of the those kids in our 3rd grade math books. He was wearing pink oven mitts and holding a batch of cookies.
17. I've never been big into politics. Sorry Daph.
18. I love previews. Perhaps even more so than movies themselves.
19. I'm incredibly allergic to cats. If I even hug someone who has a cat, I'm likely to start vehemently scratching my neck and my eyes will most likely get bloodshot and start to bleed.
20. I exaggerate. a lot. (see above).
21. I have a friend from kindergarten that I am still close to. We have been friends for 20 years.
22. I have never lived alone and sometimes wonder if I would be able to do it. I might get too lonely.
23. My dream one day is to open a coffee shop like Eclectic or Two-Story and spend my weekends chatting with the locals when I'm not working at a university I greatly respect.
24. I didn't study abroad but I have a strong desire to work in Australia after graduating from this program.
25. I'm still waiting to fall in love. And looking forward to it.
