Chocolate Chip Waffles

There's something to be said about good friends. Great friends even. I came down to Atlanta for 24 hours to spend part of the weekend with the Wrights (whoa. I think that's the first time I've ever referred to them as their married name.) We spent yesterday relaxing at the pool with two of J's law school buddies. After packing a cooler full of snacks and picking up some beer on the way, a day at the pool felt more like a beach vacation. We went to LaFonda last night for dinner (yes, the same name as the character in Napoleon Dynamite though LaFonda the restaurant has a more Hispanic/Cuban/Mexican feel to it as opposed to Kip's girlfriend in the movie.) We checked out a new bar that Sam and Daph had enjoyed the previous week before coming back to play Chickenfoot and Egyptian Rat Screw. It was an evening full of laughs and some creepy remarks.

Woke up this morning to Chef J whipping up some chocolate chip waffles with fresh raspberries and blackberries. Are. you. kidding. me? Nope. What did I do to deserve such goodness? Simply amazing.

We're spending the morning watching the most tragic show on television (no, it's not Jon and Kate + a divorce.) 16 and Pregnant is MTV's documentary-esque look at children having children. Ok, so they're really teens but it's so sad and depressing to see these kids try and raise kids while resenting each other and missing their friends. Perhaps every teenager should be required to watch this show. At 26, I'm sold and definitely thinking I'm not ready for a child.

Off to Urban Outfitters before I head back to Athens. Great weekend with the Wrights (uh oh, I did it again). Grateful to have them so close!

Cheers.
