It's good to be home.
After what seemed like an incredibly long drive (8.5 hours is long in my book), I finally made it home to New Orleans on Saturday. I think that's the longest to date that I have driven in one sitting by myself and I was going car-crazy. After growing tired of music, I listened to half of The Alchemist on audiotape. Good book...thus far.
I've really enjoyed being home. I went out with high school friends Saturday night, spent yesterday day at brunch with the family and decorating the christmas tree and last night went to the House of Blues. My dad bought tickets for the family to see Aaron Neville. He sang a lot of great cover songs and a few Christmas tunes. If you don't know him, check him out here. I'm sure you've heard his voice. It was an awesome show. Afterwards, we went to Camellia Grill for a really late dinner. It's famous in the city and is a diner style establishment where you sit at the counter and watch the wait staff speak a different language to each other as they run around serving customers. It's an experience.
Off today to finish up some christmas to-do's and hopefully going to see Seven Pounds.
Cheers.
