Golden Globes.

I'm curled up on the couch watching the Golden Globes with Kat and Kari as they regurgitate three semesters worth of information in preparation for their comprehensive exams tomorrow. I'm in awe of their knowledge and really proud of them for studying their arses off. I wish them luck tomorrow. Their whole cohort actually. I even sent a few prayers their way tonight in mass.

But back to the Golden Globes. Why does everyone look like a hot mess tonight? Seriously. They all look like they went through a wind tunnel before presenting on stage. Kat and I have argued a few times over the choice of wardrobe for some individuals but all in all, that's what award shows are all about. I'm proud of Slumdog Millionaire for its two wins thus far (circa 10pm eastern). I have a more vested interest in going to see The Reader after Kate Winslet's win for Best Supporting Actress. I had my fingers crossed that Weeds would pull out a victory (currently slightly obsessed with that show) but so far, no wins. I expected Heath to win Best Supporting Actor and am eager to see who wins Best Actor/Actress and Best Picture.

I'm starting off tomorrow with the new smoothie. Fingers are crossed it doesn't become one big mess!
