the test must go on!

I've been cool, calm, and collected throughout this whole process. This whole studying process that is. A six-hour, five-question, 58-sources examination that requires me to integrate and synthesize everything I've learned, studied, and grappled with over the past year and a half. Sure it can be daunting but I never allowed myself to get worked up, overtaken by anxiety, or too stressed.

And then yesterday it all came unraveling! And sadly, it had nothing to do with the studying. Rather, it was an email saying the "winter clipper" or whatever Dagmar keeps calling it on the weather channel was heading our way, snow in the forecast, and since the south doesn't "do snow," the possibility of campus being closed and our test being rescheduled became a distinct possibility. Some might consider that great news and rejoice at the thought of having anywhere from 3-7 more days to study. But for the members of my cohort, this isn't good news at all. For one thing, we're eager to get it over it. For better or worse, we want this test behind us. For another thing, the proposed rescheduled date is NEXT Friday, January 15. I'll be in Seattle, another on a cruise, and two more in the mountains. I'm not sure if we'd be expected to all cancel/change our plans and I'm praying it doesn't come to that.

So my fingers are crossed and my prayers are out there that the weather is mild enough that campus does not close and we don't have to reschedule our exam. The show, err, test, MUST GO ON. It simply must.

Cheers.
