What Ifs...
Shoulda. Woulda. Coulda. Didn't.
I enjoy this whole blogging game. Sure I used to blog way more than I do now but every now and again when I find myself with a minute (or ten), I enjoy returning to my online public diary to catch up on life.
A while back, a classmate of mine drew my attention to a posting. Wanted: Student Affairs graduate students looking for jobs to blog about the experience. I can do that I thought. You had to submit a couple samples by January 11 (I thought it was January 22) and if selected, write about the experience of finding employment. Simple enough. Heck, every blue moon someone I didn't even know knew I had a blog will shoot me an email, a facebook message, or an in person greeting telling me how much they enjoyed a recent post. Who knew? So I figured I might have a good shot at this. So I sat down this evening ready to draft up some samples and send them off. Only to find out the deadline passed and the blog is already up and running. Womp. Womp.
Here it is: Studentaffairsblog.
I browsed through the first few entries from the two selected students. Both appear to be female. Perhaps my male perspective would have been appreciated. Oh well. I hear it came with some sort of stipend. Nothing big. But perhaps enough to cover a water bill here and there? Or an evening on the town? Maybe even a dinner for two? Guess I'll never know...
In other news, Jharmony (job harmony) sent me my first match today. I'll be interviewing with a Catholic institution in the midwest for a Housing position during placement in March. At this point, I'm open to exploring as many opportunities as possible and see what fits. I'll write more on Placement as it draws near. And keep you updated on Jharmony...
Cheers.
