FACE OFF

Last night, I attended the 2010 FACE OFF competition at the Classic Center with a handful of my csaa-mates and a few interview buddies. I couldn't attend FACE OFF last year and had it on my list of things to do before leaving Athens.

In essence, FACE OFF is like Rhodes' All-Sing with a mix of Stomp the Yard. It was hosted by a comedian UGA brought it who told some pretty inappropriate jokes but on the whole, was really funny. It featured roughly 10 MGC and NPHC Greek-letter organizations in a variety of skits, step routines, and videos. The students were incredibly talented and had so much pride for their organizations and I enjoyed being able to see a side of UGA that I'm never exposed to. You could tell the students put an incredible amount of time into the routines and seeing so many alumni of the organizations in the audience cheering and supporting the students was touching.

My knowledge of the MGC and NPHC communities is rather bleak I'm afraid to admit and I had trouble understanding many of the jokes and pokes that were made toward other fraternities and sororities. But overall, it was great entertainment and a really good time. Congrats to the AKA's who took first place for the women with their "AKABOTS" routine and the Sigmas who took home first place for the men with a really cool step routine that even included the guys stepping in straight jackets and chains.

Wish I had a video or something I could post but maybe in due time...
