Another great STL weekend
I'm in love. with summer. And no, this is not a reference to the great film, 500 Days of Summer. Rather, a realization that summer 2012 has been one of the best summers I can remember in quite some time. And this weekend only added another point to the win column.
What all did I get into this weekend?
Friday night I went to see The Dark Knight Rises. I LOVED IT. I couldn't help but reflect on the tragedy in Colorado during the previews and then again when the movie ended. Such a horrific and senseless act. As for the film itself, a fitting and wonderful conclusion to the Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale trilogy. I'd have to go back and watch the first two to fully stand behind this next statement but I'm tempted to say it's the best of the three in terms of action, character and plot development, and cast. And that's all I'll say about it so I don't ruin it for those who've yet to see it.
Saturday I spent the day with a new friend. From helping a mutual friend move to town to spending the afternoon shopping on a quest to find him a dry bar for his dining room, I had a great day. Saturday night I met back up with him and spent the evening with him and some of his coworkers. All in all, a pretty legit Saturday.
And today? I went to the Cardinals game for a work outing to see them dominate the Cubs with a 7-0 victory. The Cardinals scored two back to back home runs and we had great seats in left field directly behind the third base line. We were in the shade, too! I'm spending the evening relaxing on the couch to round out this wonderful weekend.
