Another Saturday Night...
You know those nights? The ones where you let life take you where it wants instead of trying to plan everything out to the T? Last night was one of those. And I loved it.
I made plans to go to Sasha's on Shaw (a favorite wine bar of mine with an amazing patio) with a friend but upon arriving to the PACKED place, we decided to rethink our plans and opt for somewhere more low key. So we landed on S. Grand and picked a Persian place neither of us had ever tried before, Cafe Natasha's. And lo and behold, our outdoor table proved to be a wonderful spot to watch the NAKED BIKE RIDE that began shortly thereafter down S. Grand. We were shocked! And in awe! I tried to capture some photos but well, not sure it's legal to post photos of naked people online and not sure you'd want to see them! We were laughing hysterically the whole time and even though my gyro was only decent and the service pretty terrible, so glad Sasha's didn't end up working out. Otherwise we would have missed the excitement.
Post dinner, I met up with Shrev (Shruti and Evie) at the Budweiser "Made in St. Louis" Party. I heard about the party through Evie under the premise of "free event, free food, free beer, local bands. the Pageant." Done. The catch? You basically had to sign over your Facebook account to Budweiser which I didn't realize until we showed up! Entry fee: Checking in on Facebook and wearing a microchip on your wrist linked to Facebook so that at various points throughout the night, Budweiser could update your status with gems like "I just checked in at the Budweiser Made in STL Party," or my personal favorite, "I'm about to ROCK at the Budweiser Made in STL Party." But I have to hand it to Budweiser. The free beer was great and they had giveaways around the venue like beer tasting, free Pappy's, Ted Drewe's, Gus's Pretzels, free t-shirts, and a photo booth.
A great last night before student staff begin arriving today and training kicks off tomorrow. Farewell summer. You've been more than kind. Perhaps a post dedicated to one of the great summers of 2012 is in order!
Cheers.
