There's a hole in my pocket...

I love my roommate Kari. I'm just going to throw that out there. She knows it and I think everyone else in my program pretty much knows it. But it's true. I feel really blessed to have gotten to know her and to have lucked out living with her. Before she left today, she had me play a Joshua Radin song with the title line above. She likes the song but mainly, she likes the way Josh says "pocket" in a British accent. She walks around the house saying "pawket." We've had some great laughs so far this year and I can't imagine life here in Athens without her (insert awwws). She's moving to Seattle next year, or Virgina, or timbuktu (which contrary to popular belief is a real life place in Mali, Africa). I told her I've been there before but I lied. I haven't. And truth be told, I'm geographically challenged so I don't even quite know where to look for it on a map.

Today has been a really good day. I haven't really gotten any work done since I submitted my autobiography Wednesday night and I'm OK with taking a step back and regrouping. I watched The Green Mile this morning as I am writing a paper on the film and I forgot how much I love that movie. The entire movie centers on a moral journey and if you haven't seen it (Caleb) and have 3 hours and 9 minutes to spare, I suggest you watch it.

I went to lunch with Pojo today at The Last Resort and had a Fried Green Tomato Sandwich. Mmmmm. They have a great lunch menu and it's very affordable with a wide variety of options from crab cakes and burgers to salads and pastas. Check. it. out.

Caleb and I went for a run this afternoon on some of the trails on campus which was nice as we prepare for the half marathon we are running in April in Nashvegas. On my way home, Bud Richey called and theren't many things I enjoy more than sitting down and shooting the student affairs shit with Bud. He's been a great mentor over the past few years and a wise friend.

Going out tonight to a Wine and Cheese party and the attire is: fancy. I'm looking forward to sporting a tie for the second time since I've been in Athens. My how life has changed...

Cheers.
