I do it for the kids.

I went to bed last night at 1030pm. I know, pretty early for a graduate student. When I found myself waking up feeling refreshed at 645 this morning with nowhere to go until 11am, I decided I might as well get up and get a move on the day.

I did some laundry, washed the dishes from last night and cleaned the kitchen, emptied the dishwasher, did some ironing, made breakfast and sat down to watch the Today Show before any of my roommates woke up. I thought to myself, so maybe this is what being a parent feels like: the whole getting the house in order and taking care of business before having to get ready for the day. The only thing I didn't do was yell upstairs, KIDS! TIME TO GET UP!!!! I could have, but I resisted the temptation. I didn't want Kari and E to come downstairs being like, WTF is wrong with you! Plus it was nice to enjoy the morning by myself.

Today is one of those gloomy, rainy days. The kind where you want to stay inside and curl up with a good book or a movie. I have had a Netflix sitting next to the TV for about 3 weeks now (3:10 to Yuma) and I am beginning to wonder if I will ever watch it. Maybe this weekend...

I am going to a lecture today at the UGA chapel that our faculty recommended we attend. It isn't mandatory but we have received about 5 emails on it from the faculty strongly recommending we go so I figure I should be there. Going to see the new 007 movie tonight and though I'm not a James Bond aficionado, am looking forward to it.

Happy Friday! Cheers.

I'll leave you with a video from FailBlog to start your day off right:
