DONEzo.

For those of you English majors out there, no, I don't believe donezo is a legitimate word. But it sums up my energy and motivation this week.

I am home for a brief break before heading back to the Department of Children and Family Services for the Leadership UGA Program I am running tonight with my colleague Anna on Gentrification. I am looking forward to it but I am also pooped and would enjoy staying in tonight.

I went to dinner last night with a good friend I met on TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) several years ago. We have not done the best job of staying in touch but he was in town visiting his godson and we got an opportunity to have dinner together. He is also a Catholic priest-a young 28 year old, Catholic priest (rare these days...) We had a fantastic talk about the state of the Catholic church, proposition 8, gay marriage, Obama's election, and it was refreshing to hear his perspective as a priest but also disconcerting to hear his thoughts on the future of the Church and the church's refusal to step forward on issues of EQUALITY.

Leaving dinner did not make me doubt my faith but left me feeling incredibly frustrated with the Catholic church. I guess some things never change...

So I don't quite know if it was dinner, class, work, the long runs this week, or a combination of all of the above that has left me completely drained and it's only Wednesday afternoon. Still so much left to accomplish this week...

Where's the Little Engine that could when you need him?

Cheers.
