Are you crying...?
I love A League of Their Own. One of my favorite movies. Without fail, you could always find it on TBS. I'm not usually one who could sit through the same movie over and over but with that one, I definitely can and have.
Marla Hooch...what-a-hitter!....
Still cracks me up! Anyway, there's a line in the movie where Tom Hanks is reprimanding a player for crying. Are you crying? There's no crying in baseball! I heard that expression in my head yesterday afternoon as I was sitting with one of my professors letting the waterworks show begin. I'm not quite sure why. We have this one professor, Dr. Dean, and boy is she amazing. She's a licensed counselor and has that "motherly" approach to her. All she has to do is look at you and ask, what's wrong and WHAM! you cry. It's a Pavlovian effect. What can I say? I met with her to discuss a project and ended up having a therapy session on graduate school, the encounter yesterday with the other professor, etc. Being sick may have had an effect on my vulnerable state but I can't pin point that for sure. I felt so much better afterwards! Definitely some great free therapy. Hopefully I can take advantage of it down the road, minus the tears...
Suffering from a cold funk. I am hoping it clears up by tomorrow for the wedding extravaganza. My grandmother refuses to be in anyone's presence if they are sick and she's supposed to be staying in our condo so I may have to lock myself up in my room. My mother told me to make sure I bring an umbrella. Myrtle Beach is supposed to be hammered with rain. Awesome. Going to be one hell of a weekend.
Happy Hump Day folks. Cheers!
