Spin Class, Gustav, Palin, 90210
Gooood morning. It's 6:50am and I've been awake for two hours already. No, I haven't been reading for class although lord knows I should be. I went to spin class this morning at 5:30am with my roommate E. I have never been to spin class before but figured it was time to check it out and start the month off right. Happy September! I can't believe the summer has come and gone. Now that September is here, it finally feels like full school mode. All in all, it's been a relatively mild summer and one of the coolest summers I can remember in quite some time. I know we probably won't see cooler temperatures until mid October and for now, the sweaters are staying locked in the trunk, but it's nice to know I survived July and August.
Thank you to those of you who inquired about my family with Gustav. I spoke with everyone yesterday and aside from loss of power at both my parent's home in New Orleans, my brother's home in Baton Rouge, and my uncle's house in Natchez, MS (the evacuation house), it appears everyone made out just fine...well, except for the tree that fell on my dad's Tahoe. No idea how big the tree was or what kind of damage it caused. I only hope he doesn't have to take it to the same dealership that is taking a solid 30 days to fix my car. (Hopefully I'll have my Toyota back Thursday).
I'm over this Sarah Palin garbage. I don't care if you're a Republican or Democrat but this airing of her family business and all these speculations about the maternity of her "children" is ridiculous. We all have things in our lives we'd prefer not be broadcasted across the nation. And the fact that her 17 year old is pregnant has no bearing on her ability to serve as VP of our nation. Her inexperience may but that's where the focus should rest.
Got a full day ahead of me. Class for 7 hours today and then a meeting tonight. After spin class this morning, it may be an early evening...Looking forward to checking out the new 90210 premiere tonight if for no other reason than to catch up with Jessica Walter (formerly of Arrested Development).
