did you get a whiff of that?
There's a scene in Sex and the City: The Movie where Carrie is reading a library book and Big says she's probably the only person (other than my mother) who still reads library books. Her remark is that she loves the smell of them.If someone were to bottle the scent of library books, I doubt it'd make a profit. But it would be fun to think of a name for the new scent. Something as simple and sophisticated as "Stacks" or "Reference" or something more european like "Eau de microfiche."
The point of all this is that I spent the better part of today in the UGA library researching and collecting sources for a paper I have to write on Parent Issues in Higher Education. Though my topic and title are both a work in progress, I'm leaning toward, "The Inclusion of Parents at the Table: Importance and Implications." I picked up about 12 sources today and have the joy of reading through them to produce my annotated bibliography for next week (If anyone remembers how one of those is supposed to look, let me know!)
A few things I'm excited about:
1. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back at Starbucks. While I usually prefer them once the weather feels like fall, I feel the need to begin treating myself to them. In a word: EPIC.
2. I received a check from State Farm yesterday made out to yours truly for a magical amount designated by State Farm to be the loss of value to my car as a result of the August 5th accident.
3. Thanks to my BDB, I discovered my Samsung Blackjack (which I've had for 13 months) came with an extra extended battery that I never knew existed. So much for my crappy run down year old battery. Kinda feels like I got a new phone.
Off to watch some tv before heading to the DawgCamp Staff Reunion Banquet catered by Willy's.
Cheers!
