And I think to myself, what a wonderful...

WEEKEND. Back from homecoming 2k8 in Memphis and it's hard to believe it came and went so quickly! It's funny that I spent so much of the weekend telling friends how much I was enjoying Athens, what a great program I'm in, how much I love my new friends, and how great life is. I was a cheery, chipper, positive Paul. People would be pleased.

Here's a recap of the weekend:

Friday: Got into town and loved seeing the renovations to the old crib. Will did an amazing job with the back yard and the bathroom. Nice work. We went to dinner at Fresh Slices and had everyone over Friday night. It doesn't get much better than friends and Abita Amber. Stayed at 1916 and it was so weird staying on the couch and realizing that I no longer had a bedroom there after sleeping under that roof for the last three years.

Saturday: Went to Eclectic in the morning with Ash, J, and Will. Hit up the fraternity houses in the afternoon followed by more Abita and the hot tub to round out the day. We went to Central BBQ for dinner and hit up Silky's Saturday night. It was great to visit many of the hang out spots and enjoy some delicious food. Stayed at DP's Saturday night and our walk to his apt from downtown plus the conversation we had once we got back was definitely the highlight of the weekend. It was chock full of qt and I was able to really fill him in on the important people in my life right now in Athens. I definitely needed that.

Sunday: Breakfast at DP's apartment and Lenny's for our final meal. Plus an on-time direct flight back to Altanta. Thank you Air Tran!

Sadly, I'm no longer Positive Paul though. I'm Sad Sam. It was so great being back in Memphis and hanging out with everyone that it was definitely really tough to leave today. It doesn't help that I'm returning to midterms and a huge program next Sunday that I haven't done any planning for yet. I'm trying not to stress out.

I'm ending this post from Atlanta. I'm staying at J and Ash's apartment for the night and waking up around 530am to head back to Athens. Brothers & Sisters in 1o minutes. Couldn't imagine a better way to round out the weekend!

Cheers.

What about Negative Nancy and Debbie Downer? Those are my favorite two companions.
