History.

Today is my grandmother's 80th birthday and I called her to wish her a happy birthday. I asked her what she was doing tonight and she said she and my grandfather are going out to dinner (something casual, not fancy because it's my grandmother's birthday, she doesn't want to dress up, and gosh darn it, it's her birthday!) with an old navy friend of my grandparents. They have been friends with this gentleman for decades. In fact, Grandma said she and my grandfather were both friends with this guy before they even got married. I'm not sure how long they've been married exactly but I know it's been around 60 years. How amazing...

I wonder if in 50-60 years, I will be going to dinner with Ash and J for Ash's 80th birthday. It's definitely possible...Crazy to think about!

In other news, I thought it was worth drawing your attention to LB's Blog. She has an incredible post today about finding a letter her grandfather wrote to his parents (her great-grandparents) when he was preparing to graduate from college and head off to war. Definitely worth a read.
