athens fall.
It's finally that time of year again...my favorite season: fall. It's not just getting to wear my favorite sweaters or the crisp air outside. It's the changing of the leaves, the breeze that seems to never end, and the atmosphere as Thanksgiving and Christmas approach. Growing up in New Orleans, the leaves would go from green to dead in a matter of a week so I never had the opportunity to really watch the leaves change color.
Moving to Memphis afforded me the opportunity to see colors I had never witnessed before: yellows, oranges, deep reds, and I fell in love with them. I'm not quite sure what an Athens fall will be like but I am looking forward to seeing what's in store. I may even have to spend a day in the very near future walking around downtown Athens with a Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte in my hand just enjoying the weather.
Spent the evening in Atlanta last night seeing Wicked at the Fox Theatre. The cast did an incredible job and I am really proud of myself for not humming the lyrics the entire show. I love the story line and our discussions in class about Multicultural Competence, Student Development and Moral Development theories really played about in the show. It gave me a great new lens with which to view Glinda, Elphie, and their changing relationship.
Off to get some work done before watching the LSU vs. UGA game.
Cheers.
