PRIDE.

No. I'm not talking about the parade (yes, that parade.) I'm talking about everyday PRIDE that individuals should be taking in their lives, their homes, their communities, etc. I went for a run today through the neighborhood and the park right down the street and was amazed by the amount of trash littered everywhere. Literally. We're not talking an apple core people that is bio-degradable. I'm talking about the stuff that sticks around forever. I saw everything from yogurt to empty liquor bottles and beer cans to fast food bags and all of it was trash. I wonder how difficult it is to find a trash can to put your garbage in or if people find it amusing to drive around at night throwing their crap out the window. It annoys me that people do not take more pride in their communities.

I feel like it's equivalent to shitting where you eat. Now, no one in their right mind is going to forgo their toilet for a nice maple wood dining room table. I know, the example is extreme, but isn't it appropriate? How much nicer would our community be if the streets were not littered with trash?

I guess that's becoming a new pet peeve of mine. The same applies for a house. I can never understand why some people prefer to live in a dirty house. Maybe they just don't know how dirty it is. Or perhaps they can carry on with a sink full of dishes, a floor covered in dirt, and furniture with so much dust on it you sneeze every time you walk by. Not me. I like a clean house with everything nice and neat and stored away.

Call me anal. Call me obsessive. I'd prefer to say I'm simply taking PRIDE.
