happy labor day weekend

The past two days have been a bit crazy but very enjoyable. Between work, writing a paper, reading, hitting the pool and the gym, I've been keeping busy. Heading to Atlanta this weekend to visit the Memphis crew: DP, Will, Laine, and Sally are all headed to town. A quick shout out to DP on his birthday today.

Been watching CNN today more than usual for updates on both Hurricane Gustav and McCain's pick for the VP. I am hoping Gustav does not hit New Orleans but I guess it's too early to tell. Hard to believe it's been 3 years since Katrina struck. Still so much left to do in the city.

Curious to hear the aftermath of McCain picking the Governor of Alaska as his running mate. It was just recently (although embarrassed to say) that I discovered that Alaska was actually connected to Canada. I really had no idea where it was. How pathetic!

Tomorrow is the first home game of the season and I am already beginning to see Athens transform itself into game day. This city doesn't play around. I won't be here for the game but am hoping the Dawgs pull out a victory against Southern.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend. And for my cohort, that means NO LABORING or doing school work! Cheers.
