overwhelmed

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed these last couple of days. Though the transition to Athens has been pretty smooth, I find myself feeling nostalgic and getting sad over the smallest of things.

Example 1: Joining a new gym yesterday. Working out at Omni and not at Rhodes to run into Forbes, Laino, Alli or any other familiar face.

Example 2: Grocery shopping. As much as I complained about it, I got so used to group grocery shopping once a month with will and laine. Shopping for yourself is just not as fun.

I know both of these are trivial things but it's my feelings at the moment. I am taking things one day at a time and I know I will get to a place soon where I feel as comfortable in Athens and in my new home as I did in Memphis. But for now, it's a day-by-day task to take deep breaths, not focus on what I'm missing and focus on what needs to be done.

Speaking of, headed to campus today to participate in interviews for the new Assistant Director in my office, the Center for Leadership & Service at UGA. I finally got my parking permit yesterday and today I hope to find my designated lot. I need to tackle learning the bus system before Monday. Much to do.

Looking forward to the finale tonight of SYTYCD.

Cheers.
