he's gone country
Had a great night out last night and for once, we didn't do the usual downtown bar scene. We went country line dancing! Now for some of you, that may seem like the worst idea in the entire world but I was looking forward to it. With my cowboy boots in tow, we set out to Country Rock. While the bar had an interesting feel to it, we had a great time getting on the dance floor and attempting to learn the line dances. Some were easier than others. In between the line dances, the DJ played rap and other dance favorites so there really was something for everyone.
People watching took on a new dimension last night and after living in Memphis for so long, I thought I'd seen it all. Nope. Things I was most impressed by included the guy selling flowers and stuffed bears and dogs, the valet man in the bathroom who literally just sat there, did not offer you paper towels or anything and grunted when you didn't leave him a tip, and the glass dance floor above the bar for girls. Most of them didn't quite figure out that any patron getting a drink at the bar could simply look up and see her business if she was wearing a skirt.
Like I said, it was interesting.
Registered for class yesterday and met with the faculty. Classes start Monday! Yikes. Also went with Pojo to check out some homes in Athens she is considering buying when she moves here next weekend. SO EXCITED!
Not much planned for the day. Maybe the pool or just laying low. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Cheers.
