Lucky number three?

Three days. Three police officers. I wonder how many people can say that. Our doorbell rang yesterday and I opened the door to meet Lt. Brinkley. He had heard about the car break in a few nights back and was stopping by to say hello, assure us his men are patrolling the entire East side of Athens and that our neighborhood was undergoing a revitalization. While some of the neighbors are crack addicts, many are college students and we should not give up hope. He said things have been improving on the east side a lot and that should we ever have any questions, to call him directly. I wonder if that applies to speeding tickets?

Went out last night to downtown Athens for the first time. While parking is horrendous (and the 35K+ students haven't even returned yet), I enjoyed being able to walk around downtown and have a huge variety of restaurants and bars to check out. Last night we went to the Winery and the Globe. Both are more upscale and I am hoping will not be frequented by the underclassmen. For you Memphis folk, Winery has a downtown Blue Monkey atmosphere to it and Globe is more like Celtic. Met a few more members of the cohort last night as well and really looking forward to everyone being here.

J, Ash, and Carson are headed to Athens today to hang out. I imagine we will spend the afternoon by the pool and then go downtown tonight for dinner/drinks. It's great not to have to pay a cover or pay for parking! Thank you Athens.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Cheers.
